35th Annual European Meeting on Atmospheric Studies by Optical Methods
Welcome
The 35th Annual European Meeting on Atmospheric Studies by Optical Methods was held at National University of Ireland, Maynooth from 24 to 29 August, 2008. A total of 63 participants from the following eleven countries attended: Australia (1), Canada (4), Finland (2), Germany (3), Ireland (6), Norway (14), Russia (6), Spain (8), Sweden (7), UK (7) and USA (6). The wide ranging programme included presentations on optical phenomena in the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere and ionosphere. New results from ground-based and space-based observations, theory, new techniques and new experiments were described. The social programme included visits to Newgrange, central Dublin, an evening of Irish music in one of the local pubs in Maynooth, and a conference banquet. The 36th Meeting will take place at the Astronomical Observatory in the University of Kiev, Ukraine from August 17 to 21, 2009.
